Viva Snowflex! PDF Print E-mail
The weekend of the 25th – 27th November saw the Briton Snowflex® installation team in Madrid, Spain at the Fiera de Madrid for the Esqui de Montagna, a spectacular event showcasing the best of what alpine sports have to offer.

Standing out amongst the rock climbing, go-karting and mountain biking features was a 300 square metre slope decked out in virginal white Snowflex, ready for the general public to test to their utmost. At various points over the weekend show teams took to the slope and put the custom-built ramp and kicker to work, producing a variety of flips and twists to impress the crowd which gathered around the edge of the counterslope.

The show slope proved incredibly popular with all show-goers

The team at Briton are proud to have worked with Christian Perez of the Traimer Group and Jose Manuel Vilanova of Eventos Logisticos Feriales to supply and construct the slope to a tight schedule. The entire Snowflex system was freighted from Briton’s production centre in West Yorkshire to Madrid and constructed on the scaffold frame in under a week. The slope itself consisted of Snowflex’s renowned shock absorption technology and misting system, enabling Spanish show-goers to experience the very best in what artificial slope technology has to offer.

The Madrid show was well attended by European media organisations

Media crews were present over the whole weekend from Spain’s five major television channels as well as reporters for national and local newspapers. In a 30 minute documentary on prime time Spanish national TV the Snowflex slope was referred to as “The King of the Show”. Terry Di Stasi, Briton’s Director of Business Development as well as Robert Wilkes, Portuguese representative for Snowflex, were on hand to provide answers to the numerous questions posed. All told, the event was a resounding success and everyone involved now looks forward to introducing Snowflex as a permanent feature of the Iberian landscape.
