BRITON ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENTS LTD ANNOUNCES NEXT GENERATION BRITONMIST SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING SYNTHETIC SKI SLOPE SURFACES

Huddersfield, UK – Briton Engineering Developments Ltd (UK), world leaders in the design and build of synthetic snowsports slopes and the inventors and manufacturer of the high performance SNOWFLEX® synthetic ski and snowboard surface system has just announced the launch of their new improved water misting system used to naturally lubricate the surface of the Snowflex® slopes to create greater speed, less friction, and reduced "burn" wear of ski and snowboard bases and edges. This new BritonMist system is making its debut at the expansion and refurbishment of the nursery slope at SkiRossendale in Lancashire in the UK.

The new BRITONMIST's features include -

  • Water tank modulation controls which better modulate the amount of mains water used and incorporates improved collection and usage of rainwater through the system

  • New and improved fully engineered filtration and cleaning system to reduce the water impurities and airborne pollution that previously could have found its way on to the slope

THE IMPORTANCE OF SYNTHETIC SLOPE LUBRICATION-

The misting of a synthetic ski slope surface is integral to the well-being of the surface for a number of reasons.  An accurately designed and fully engineered mist system sprays a precise droplet size to the surface, giving maximum effect with minimum water usage. Sliding speed is increased and friction and heat are reduced significantly, assisting in the elimination of potential heat damage to ski and snowboard edges. The BritonMist system increases the lifespan of the snowsports surface and also skis, snowboards and snow tube bases and just as importantly it sets Snowflex® apart from other surfaces that claim not to require lubrication.

In addition, the correctly designed Snowflex® synthetic ski slopes will incorporate a water recovery system to collect the water generated by the mist on the slope, (as well as rainfall), filter it, and store it for reuse.
